Question by Bluebeard: Should I grill small amounts of food, four burgers on a charcoal grill or on one of the little gas grills?
I like the charcoal taste, but it seems that everybody is going to small gas grills.

This is me lighting the charcoal in my Weber Smoky Mountain smoker. It only takes about 20-30 seconds to light it off for what's known as a Minion Method start. Video Rating: 4 / 5

Question by az: What is the best charcoal grill for under 0?
It's finally getting nice enough outside to grill! We want to make ribs and burgers mostly.
We have a $ 200 budget, and prefer charcoal grills. Any recommendations from Y!A consumers?

Answer by Matt B The first thing you need to figure out is if you're going to grill or BBQ. If you're going to grill, cook the meat fast over a hot fire, pretty much anything will do, even a large ceramic garden planter with a grate on top. If you're going to BBQ you need something a little fancier.
The nice thing about charcoal grills for grilling is that most of them are under $ 100. I have a generic kettle grill that has served me well for 2 seasons. I think it was like $ 40 at HD - I grill 2-3x a week and it has held up great. Mine came with a charcoal catcher at the bottom which not only makes cleanup easy, but it also gives another set of air vents which gives more heat control. You'll also want to look at surface area, if you're feeding obviously a bigger grill is better.
If you plan to BBQ (cook the meat slow, over lower heat, for a longer period of time) you need something a little fancier (not that the above won't work, it's just more difficult). You'll want to look for a built in thermometer, adjustable charcoal grates, additional vents. You're probably into the $ 300 and above range for a decent smoker.
Question by TC191746: How do you grill vegetable on your weber charcoal grill.?
I purchased the device for grilling vegetables, but there must be a process for grilling vegetables on my charcoal grill other than just putting them on the tray. What is the process?
Best answer:
Answer by bball_samurai Well, I think the tray just helps keep the veggies from falling through the grill "slots," if you will. You could (I know I can't spell this, but I'm gonna try) shishka-bob them (did you understand that one? lol), you know, stick them through with a stick. I also think using some heavy duty aluminum foil can be used to grill those veggies. Hope that helped somewhat! ^_^

Question by DBack: Has anyone ever turned a regular charcoal grill into a charcoal grill insert?
I want to turn my charcoal grill into a grill insert but, not sure if it can be done and why. It is a barrel type of grill with vents on the right and left side with a smoke stack on top. The way I see it, all I have to do is cut the legs off, attach a vent hose to the vents and start cooking. FYI... the base will be made of concrete bricks
Best answer:
Answer by Tex What are you going to insert it into, the inserting part sounds doable to me, the only question would be about spacing between the grill and any flammable substances.. Fire places, wood stoves and etc have minimum clearance requirements, you will have to follow them for your grill or risk igniting the surrounding surfaces.
